The Oceania Judo Union (OJU) is pleased to confirm that Melbourne, Australia will host the 2026 Oceania Continental Championships, marking the long-awaited return of Oceania’s standalone continental event.

Following the OJU’s announcement earlier this year of its intent to reintroduce a dedicated Oceania Championships from 2026, preparations are now well underway to bring the event to life in partnership with Judo Australia and the International Judo Federation (IJF).

Competition Schedule:

  • Saturday, 18 April 2026Cadets and Juniors
  • Sunday, 19 April 2026Seniors

The Championships will be preceded by a week-long Oceania Training Camp at Australia’s National Performance Centre, offering valuable cross-regional development and exchange for athletes, coaches, and referees.

For athletes seeking additional competition experience, the Melbourne International Judo Open (MIJO) will also take place the weekend prior, providing an exceptional build-up to the Continental Championships.

Further information, including event logistics, accommodation details, and camp registration, will be released in the coming months.
